I've been coming out to my closest friends lately and I'm still getting ready to tell my family. I'm trying to leave some hints before saying anything, as no one in my family is supportive to the LGBT cause.
My older sister is kinda homophobic and I feared approaching her with such subject. But today she noticed that I've been letting my hair and nails grow.
She said that I'm a person with phases, and while before I had a really short clean cut and bitten nails, now I have the long messy bangs and longer nails.
I tried to be as natural as possible and said: "I gotta try different styles to know how I feel really comfortable."
Now this is the part that really gave me hope:
She said: "I bet this is just another phase. Pretty soon you'll be changing styles again".
She's paying attention. She will notice the changes. And specially, she will know that it's a big deal if I keep the long manicured nails and the longer hair.
This may sounda bit silly, but knowing her, I know that soon she'll put two and two together.
That would be much easier for me.
