Hi All:
I'm a newbie on the forum and the question I have today is: Where does one find clothes for tall and big women? God must have a terrific sense of humor as not only am I transgender, but I am big person. 6'5 and somewhat long in torso with 34" inseam legs (54-56" chest). I am tired of blouses that are too short and dresses that aren't long enough and proportioned for a longer torso. While a 40-42" dress is normal, I would need 46-48" and I am not even on to shoes yet...I where a 13.5 in men's. I haven't even been able to find anything retail. Any help or pointers would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Susan's Place. An easy one. I just ordered some shorts from the JC Penny tall shop but a store several of us use is http://www.longtallsally.com . They have size 13 boats that fit my feet perfectly and I like the style of clothes they carry. There may be some other places others will suggest.

Hi, welcome to the forum! It might be possible to find items online- just google "tall womens clothes", same with shoes. Buying online can be a drag as it's hard to know exactly what fits and what you really like. I'm 6'3" and thought I'd have a really hard time but found the majority of AU size 16/L (not sure of US conversion) actually fit reasonably well, even jeans. When I tell other women I'm a size 16 they're often surprised - "really? I thought you would have been less" - I guess because those sizes are usually worn by shorter and plumper women whereas I'm taller and thinner. So you never know your luck with standard sizes too, I know I was really surprised.

Welcome from a Blackpool girl. I'm over 6' and big built and buy a lot from LongTall Sally. Manchester is the nearest to me but they have a store in many UK cities and larger towns, also mail order.

Long tall sally has shoes up to 15, which is probably similar to US 13.5.  Their clothes aren't big enough though. I've googled and haven't found much for big and tall. Either the big is for average sized women and tall is for stick figures. depending on who makes the clothes, I am a 24-28, although there's a lot of variability in size charts. I wish there was a strict standard. The only place i found that would make clothes to size is here: http://www.eshakti.com/default.aspx. I just wish there was more choices. A lot of the plus size stuff out there is garish. Why can't they use the same patterns/designs as average sized people? I tend to like Jones New York style stuff. Classic and timeless.

I'm cheap, I shop at walk mart ,I have no problems with finding clothes to fit. I stand 6' and wear a 16 bottom and a 18 top. Shoes on the other hand are hard to find for I wear a size 13 in both mens and womens shoe.

I wish I was a 18/16. As far as shoes go, women's shoes usually run two sizes US different than men's shoes.  Thin for me would be around 230. I'd be a 20ish then.
