Serbia: New report – "Transsexual – UNEQUAL, INEQUATE, FORGOTTEN"

What I find most striking about Slavoljupka's report are the depressingly familiar narratives presented: the inaffordability, inaccessibility and expense of medical and surgical resources; the difficulty of obtaining a fully-recognised legal status and, last but definitely not least, the violence experienced by many TS people.

However, even though the conclusions of the report may not be news to me, it's worth repeating that this document is significant, not only in terms of exposing the situation in Serbia, but also of advancing the cause of social justice for binary identified transsexual people there.

its about 5 years old now but still... just if anyone cares:

Serbia is changing its rights for gay and trans people at the moment, not because they like to, EU forces them.
So in order to get in the EU, Serbia has to change all this stuff. People there dont like that, but seems like they have to...

Nobody likes too :P
Apart from the people it covers, or friends and family that care for, and love the people the laws equate to.

Because, these are the people that look at the lack of those elements within themself to feel good.

Hello all. I'm glad there are changes happening for the Serbian Trans community but I would prefer any new information to go into a new thread. The original post on this is five years old and the OP is no longer a member.

Thank you.
