I'm thinking about getting the classic packing strap, but I'm right on the border of small/medium. I thought maybe I should get a small, since there really isn't anything supporting it and I don't know how susceptible it is to slipping, but would that be too tight?

Well if its adjustable a medium sized might be a bit better...

Can you link to show what you're looking at? I have two harnesses, but I'd want to compare to the design on the one you're thinking about before I give advice.

Gotcha. I've never worn one that didn't have something between or around the legs for more support. I've also never worn one that wasn't entirely made of stretchable fabric. I typically err on the side of larger, but it really depends how you're going to wear it.

Most guys wear the harness underneath underwear. If you wear boxers or go commando, I'd say go with a small. Boxer briefs or briefs, medium. That way it's comfortable but secure in both scenarios.

Well, the ones with straps just tend to be more expensive. I really don't know anything about harnesses, I just picked that one because it was relatively cheap and looked like it probably works. I wear boxers a lot, but I do have a few pair of briefs that I wear too. I've considered just getting packing underwear, but those tend to be a lot more expensive and it doesn't seem all that efficient, since I'd have to wear them every time I pack (which I expect to be often).

It seems to look like the band is made of some sort of stretchy material. I'd go with a small because with a medium when it wears out it might be a bit too big. but tbh it's up to you. Good luck!
