Kayla Marie

Hi everyone!! I just joined and would like to introduce myself. My name is Kayla and I'm from St. Louis, MO. I'm 35 years old and I feel like I'm 25 again since I started shopping in public places. I am still not really out, but that's mainly because I have an 8 year old daughter and I'm trying to go about things delicately. She's been a daddy's girl from day one so I want to make sure she is able to see my transition as being a positive change. Her mom already knows. She confronted me about being trans whenwe first split and in a panic I denied everything. I came clean to her two years ago. Initially she was furious. She felt hurt, lied to, and was suddenly insecure about why I was ever even with her in the first place. It took some time and me being there for her when she really needed someone, but we are doing great now. In the last month she called me her bff and even borrowed some sandals and a cardigan from me for an event she was working. I could tell she felt awkward asking me but it made me so giddy being able to share a real girl moment with her. I'm confident that I have her support now but I know she still worries about our daughter. My oldest sister and her partner are the only other friends and family whom I have told. They are both very supportive but don't really know much about the trans community. Coming out as gay is a little different than coming out as transgender I guess. As far as my transition, I just finished laser hair removal on my face and am currently undergoing treatments on my back and arms. I am starting to develop a pretty good sense of style in the clothes I buy, and little by little, I'm getting better at applying my own makeup. Anyways, that's me in a nutshell. Sorry if this was a bit long-winded. I look forward to meeting you all soon.

Hugs
MWAH!!

I have protected my children and grandchildren for all my life, but now is the time, so I really understand your need to needing to be cognisant of that is good. However they also say that sometimes it easier the younger our children are... but I never could... struggling coming out to my wife after 40 odd years, but you have just given me a positive view.
