and sadness from your eyes
and replace them with memories

for you to lay your head
listening for your heartbeat
understanding each word you said

I would create a sunny morning
to greet you each new day
chase away the rain clouds
that may have gotten in your way

I would paint a distant rainbow
but this one would always last
so you would know your pot of gold
is  the future not the past

I would shoot a star across the sky
and wish your dreams come true
then you could look out every night
to see this wish for you

I would play a constant melody
that would strum across your heart
a place to rest awhile
when the world becomes too hard

I would build for you a fortress
so you would always know
love will be waiting there for you
wherever you may go

I would light the corners of your life
from the ocean floor to the stars above
so when you look at all the world
you will know that you are loved

You poem is very beautiful.    It shows you have a creative and sensitive nature.  I hope your SO realizes that she has a very caring and loving friend in you.   Your words show that you must love her very, very much.  Saying I love you with poetry can be so romantic. 

Your SO does have a very pretty and unusual name.  If you wrote this for her in one day she must have indeed been a great inspiration for you.
