Maybe this is discussed elsewhere, if so please re-direct me.
I am 61 years old, and still in the beginning stages. After3 months of estradiol sublingual and spiro, my numbers are very good, T way down, E nicely up. But... I have experienced (still am experiencing) what I consider extreme hair growth, everywhere. I have more body hair than ever in my life, it is coming in denser and longer and darker and in places I never had any hair before. It's growing back in places where it disappeared 25 years ago. My facial hair is growing back faster and denser and tougher. My doctor, who has years of experience with hundreds of trans* folks, says she has never heard of this, it's the exact opposite of what the spiro & estradiol should do. I have yet to find any web-knowledge. This is driving my dysphoria to new levels.
I also take cardiac meds: lisinopril, atenolol, zetia, atorvastatin. And tamsulosin for BPH, bupropion for depression. Plus daily vitamin, calcium+D, and 2000iu vitamin D. And of course, there is no research I know of that discusses interactions within this cocktail.
Does anyone here have life experience? Or knowledge? Or advice where to look for info?

I never heard of it either and I am not the one to take that type of medical advice from but I have a really wild idea. Spiro works by plugging the receptors for T and it might be possible that the body is mistaking Spiro for T. A simple test would be to stop the Spiro but remain on the estradiol. The results might not be as good but I transitioned before blockers were available and hormones without blockers will work.

It does seem unusual but if it has only been three months then I'd suggest your body is still shifting gears, these things won't stop overnight... took me almost 18 months before everything really stopped body hair wise. Your doctor is monitoring it which is good, hopefully things will settle down in a few more months. If the body hair is driving you to distraction (and I can easily understand how) then I'd suggest a full body wax as a great way to clear it out. Painful yes, but wow, so worth it.
