"Jessi Dye wanted a chance to make a living while making a difference in the lives of others.

So, the 28-year-old transgender woman applied at a Falkville nursing home in 2014.

Dye's great-grandmother had lived in a nursing home and often "felt alone, like she didn't have anyone."

"I wanted to be a positive influence in people's lives," the Vinemont resident said."
