Now just so you no I have no financial interest in this company and have never been there, before or after the change of ownership.

In May of this year I met 4 TS women who had just been to Dallas, Texas to visit Electrology 3000 for a full facial clearing of their beards. As I understand it the shop has a dentist on standby to give local anesthesia to small portions to each side of the face. Then 2 operators go to work and remove all the hair in the numb area. When they are done with an area, he dentist comes back and numbs another area. This goes on all day and into the next for some, until the face is clear.

The best part it is totally pain free.  :D

This does not mean they are all done and no more hair will ever come back. It says on their website in the FAQ that one is usually done after 4 or 5 sessions, if one keeps coming back every 6 or 8 weeks. The later sessions become shorter and shorter they say.

This is not cheap either. It costs $110 per hour per operator. I still think it might be worth the money. These girls did think it was a good deal. They fly into Dallas from Great Britten and one from Norway.

Well almost. The lidocaine shots don't tickle (the upper lip shot is intense), but compared to hundreds/thousands of zaps, no comparison. My initial clearing took a day and a half, 9 hours, plus there was time to clear other areas. It took about a week for my face to feel normal again. I am very happy with the results and planning to go again in a couple of months. I thought it worth it, the conventional pace of an hour of torture a week was too slow for me, the results not clear. Plus they are located near a couple of malls if you still feel like shopping or go before you start.  :)

The shots are very painful about every hour or so. They brought me to tears.

Wow, sounds like the shots a friend got for her face lift, that was done under a local. The girls I met did not mention the pain of the painkiller shots.

Thanks,

Vickie, correct if wrong but TN ain't that far from ATL . . .

Quote from: tvals.orgFor security purposes, we do not publicize the location on the website. If you are interested in attending a meeting, e-mail, write, or call the Tennessee Vals, and tell us about yourself (why you want to attend). We will get back with you soon afterward, and give you the directions to the meeting place.

. . . and Sept 8 is past!  ???

:icon_bunch:

Nashville is about 5 hours from Atlanta. I just made that trip last week for Southern Comfort.  ;)

But we go out often to safe places in Nashville, so anyone that is interested in going out with us some time, or attending a Tvals support meeting, contact me at vickie@tvals.org, at the website, or here, and I will tell you all about it.

Hugs,

Vickie

Rhonda, but how did your face otherwise look? I am looking into finding time from work and scheduling a first appointment (I'm waiting for their email response) so if I arrive on a Weds evening are the chances good I can be on a plane and gone by early Friday afternoon? That's two days from work and do you think the weekend is sufficient to recover for the very next workday Monday?

Also, when figuring costs can I assume 9 hours times 2 electro techs times $105.00 (current rate) or about $2000 is what I can expect to initially pay? (Motel, lodging & transport extra of course)

Kiera,

yes 2k was about the price i paid. Now having said that, I am returning in December for another clearing, since the follicles that were dormant before are now filling my face with hair again.

As for recovery time, my face was very swollen for a couple of days. The lady at the place we stayed remarked that it wasn't as swollen as many that stay there. It was still puffy for another week, but not too noticeable. I'm sure each person will have a different experience based on their physiology and beard density. They told me my beard was fairly light, so as they say, YMMV depending on the number of hours in the chair.
