It's weird - I read the title of this and went off for a little look on the internet. Seriously, it's something I'd never really thought about, and knew even less

I'd always thought of men being the ones with unusually small heads! Turns out I was wrong, or perhaps because Essex has its share of massive-shoulder body builder types who end up looking all out of proportion. To me most women's heads look sort of average in comparison with their bodies. As in, like, the actual size of the whole head if that makes any sense. The large body and small head look is a guy thing in my opinion. I have an average sized head but a small body, and to be honest it's never given me a second thought! Maybe it should?

My look at some chart thing on a website revealed there's hardly any difference. It's maybe a centimetre between the genders in terms of average size. I suppose guys are more likely to go round with their heads on display. Being bald, or having very short hair, kind of exposes the whole head

But long hair can deceive the eye, it can add bulk to a head or soften sharp lines.
Apparently, the bigger differences come from the way the skull is constructed. I've even found a picture!!

I've never liked skull print designs but the real things are so interesting. I think I read somewhere else that facial feminisation surgery is based on somehow turning the male skull into something that resembles the female.
But they said on the skull website that the comparison is extreme. I think most people fall somewhere between the fully male and fully female. So maybe it's head shape rather than actual size?
