Removal of my photos and less participation on forums

Because my girlfriend has taken offense to a number of my photos that I have posted here, I have elected to remove all of them from my photo bucket account. That should result in their removal from this site and as such they should no longer be seen here.  I will not be posting any new ones.  I will leave my avatar picture up for one day and then I will change it to a non-personal design of some sort.  I toast you ladies and gentleman with a warm glass of milk in my high neck sweater, something more appropriate for a woman my age. 

Additionally, she does not like some of the content that I have publicly shared here.  She is afraid that I have endangered my friends and family by sharing information with people who I have not met in real life.  She has expressed concern that some of you might be government agents spying on the transgender community.  Out of respect for her wishes I will be limiting my participation for the near future and may stop altogether.

As I have friended some of you on Facebook, I may be deleting you from that account also.  "I wouldn't want my "real" friends to be subjected to posts and information from people who I have not met in real life".  After all, you may be "undercover government agents" and even though I have posted mostly things about my transition, I can't go around putting my friends and family at risk.

I'm pretty sure that the transgender community is not a threat to any country but do what you need to do!

Since I am Australian I shall await ASIO to visit me! But since I know a Brigadier General, a Major and several serving members of the Australian armed forces, including the SAS, as transwomen - I won't hold my breath

Oh since Prince William of the UK Flight lieutenant in his helicopter when he was serving is also a transgender woman, so I'm pretty sure the UK aren't too concerned either!

I hope she gets the help she needs and that you aren't suseptible or subject to gaslighting and other methods of undermining and control. But then that is what "they" would say, isn't it.

Well it's good practice not to share anything you would rather not have become public, but whether that applies to being trans rather depends on whether or not you consider that as in some way shameful. I do not.

As for the suggestion that some of us may be government agents, it is no secret that I used to work for the UK government, and indeed as a future clinician I will do again, but I can assure you that I have far better things to do with my time than spying on anyone on this forum, which we all participate in to give support.

So I can't help but feel that there is a touch of paranoia in the air here. I agree that being paranoid does not actually prove that they arent out to get you, but I think it might pose some questions to someone assessing the mental state of a patient before starting HRT... Just a thought.

Yes. Probably every m2f transgender person has feared of it at least once. I also once had two Facebook accounts, one is for me as a woman, and the other is for me in public.

Nowadays I have only one Facebook account, in which I show everything except some of my photos of nudity. Yes. Photos sometimes cause fusses. A recent episode was that the president of my university sent his message to me indirectly: please refrain from posting my bikini photos in Facebook. I guess someone in my hometown talked about my bikini photos to the president. I do not want to start any legal war against my university, and I hided all of my bikini photos in Facebook. This is just a temporary set back. It takes time for people to be adjusted to my wearing bikini. I know some people, especially women, showed strong negative reactions to my bikini photos. My wife feared that I may undergo SRS as I stared wearing bikini in the beach. Now she understands that bikini is not a serious issue.

Honesty will eventually relieve all of your concern and fear.

Does your girlfriend read your posts on Susans? If so, you might consider that it's possible to read this post as rather sarcastic. Or perhaps that's the intention. Either way, I hope you manage to figure it out.

What concerns me is, when a spouse demands this kind of control over you - and you give it to them - it's likely they won't stop there. They will go on to try to control you in other ways.

If privacy is a concern then never posting on the internet is the only way to prevent this. Once you post it on the net then it is there forever. As far as government lists of transgender folks most likely the NSA has such a list. Then gain if they have a list then you are already on the list.

I have no shame over anything I have posted here or on FaceBook.  I am openly transgender to everyone and I don't care who knows it.  I am transitioning later in life and am doing so on the job for an employer I have worked for 27 years.  I am waiting for one of the local network affiliates to run a story on my transition so there are no privacy issues for me. I spent years as a high tech crimes prosecutor and actually know a thing or two about internet privacy so nothing I have posted have I really worried about. 

I can't let someone else be the decider of what is appropriate for me.  I have a strong desire to help people in our community.  I think that I can help people believe in themselves to know that you can transition no matter your age.  The only way for me to do that is through sharing my journey and sharing my knowledge. 

I don't for a minute worry about there being government agents doing undercover work here.  If they are they know where to find me since I am a government agent.  That was my girlfriends concern and one she wants me to take seriously.   During my time as a high tech crimes prosecutor I learned a thing or two about internet undercover investigations.  There is no reason for one here.

Anyway thank you for your lively responses and I am not going to go away and I am going to continue to use my real picture with my real smile.  I am going to continue to contribute.
