Wow thanks for the update. Always good to remember complications do happen and seems like you did all the right things in getting it taken care of and soon.

Yep, I am very happy with the results.  It is funny however, some days I see more improvements than others.  I think it is mostly because I'm forgetting how I looked in the past.  Between my hair transplants and swelling subsiding I give myself 12 months to really see all the changes.  The other thing is the scar from the abscess located under my chin.  It bothers me, but when I mention it to other people they say they can't see it.

Hang in there, and stay positive; I'm having a slow recovery from my sept surgery, so I have empathy for what you are going through.

Wow, just wanna say thanks for creating this thread and sharing your experience with Dr Rossi and for being so transparent about it all. I made mention of your comments on another thread and wanted to thank your input there too. I'm waiting to have a consultation with Dr Rossi soon and, hopefully fly out to BA in the next few months. I think it will probably be sometime soon, as early as June possibly!

You are welcome.  I'm glad my thread is of use.

I'm doing well, I like how everything turned out.  I'm no longer concerned about the slight scar from the abscess.  Swelling has almost completely subsided, but I still see puffiness sometimes.  The results from the soft tissue work are good, but of course not as good if I had chosen to do bone work first, then followup soft tissue work.  However I would have been miserable with only bone work done and would have had no choice but to followup with additional surgery.  Now I can take my time on when/if I want to pursue more surgery.  Before I subject myself to surgery again I plan on getting laser skin resurfacing to mitigate sun damaged skin.

My hair transplants are growing out.  To be honest it is the toughest thing to wait for.  However much you read about the length of time for hair transplants to grow out the first 3 months or so go by sooooooooo slow.  ;-)  One thing that did come up was I had to change to coronal incision instead of my original decision to get hairline incision.  I was told during the day before FFS consult that there would be to much residual swelling after hairline incision to have hair transplants done within 3 weeks.

I'm glad I was in BA at the tail end of winter, summer heat would have really bothered me after surgery.  I don't know if you are going alone or with someone, but apt costs are really low in BA.  I spent USD$600 for 1bdrm, for 4 weeks.

May your trip go well and be uneventful.  :-)

Hi again

A quick update on the hair transplants, they have finally grown out enough to create an obvious hairline.  I am really happy with my decision to get hair transplants at the same time.

There is one artifact though of the hair transplants.  I'm older, once upon a time red head, but graying enough that people I haven't known for years think I'm blond.  The source for the hair transplants were FUE from across the back of my head.  My hair is darker in back, so now I have darker hair growing in along the new hairline.  Makes for an interesting effect.   :)

Hi Deeiche,

Thanks for the update on your transplants. I'm also very happy I did them too :) Definitely recommended to get done in Buenos Aires (if you need them).

Yes, anyone considering hair transplants should consider Buenos Aires, even if that is the only procedure they are considering.  Including transportation, lodging and food, hair transplants still cost less than in the US.  US Dollar to Argentine Peso rate is great, and since Dec 2015 you don't have to deal with "blue rate" money exchanger.

~9 month update, specifically "spitting sutures".

I commented about spitting sutures back on November 19, 2015, but thought I'd update this thread instead of that one.

A couple months ago I noticed a skin aberration on my left cheek.  I had a squamous cell skin carcinoma removed two years ago from my right cheek so I scheduled a visit with my dermatologist.  Mid May came around, go see the dermatologist, she looks at my left cheek and decided to do a biopsy on it, early last week the dermatologist contacted me and said the results were negative for cancer, but indicated foreign body with inflammation.  So I scheduled another visit to her.

Last weekend I noticed a rough spot on my right cheek.  Thinking it was mud from working in the field I tried to wipe it off.  Instead of wiping off mud, dried skin came off instead.  A quarter inch of something was now sticking out there, I thought maybe it was an ingrown hair.  I asked my partner look at it with a magnifying glass and she said it was black thread.  I left it alone, but after my shower it was gone.

So it appears 9 months after surgery my body is still rejecting suture material.  Also, if I feel along the coronal incision I can feel 3 spots where it appears sutures have come to the surface.  I could go to my local Dr to get them removed, but I'm going to wait and see if body pushes them out the rest of the way.

Other than this everything else is going well.  I believe most, if not all, of the swelling is gone.

I'm at the airport now on my way to Buenos Aires where I'll be greeted by one of Amanda's colleagues. Tomorrow I have blood tests and then on Friday I meet Dr Rossi and also pay a visit to the Mentor Breastforms shop. On Monday is the surgery. Nervous, slightly. But mostly just taking it as it comes and looking forward to having such a life-changing procedure. I hope everything will go well, please pray for me X

The next week will be a whirlwind.  The first couple of days are tough, but the results are worth it.

I wish you the best.

Also, are you going to start your own thread for your trip?  I hope so, because I look forward to reading more about your experience.

Since my thread was mentioned in someone else's thread I thought I'd post a 19 month update

I'm happy with my results, the results from Type III FFS and sliding genioplasty are great.  The soft tissue work is good.  There are areas which could be touched up, but I look pretty good for a 58 year old woman.  Considering I did all the procedures together the results turned out really well.  When I get my >30 year old breast implants replaced I may have the surgeon do some soft tissue touch up.

As an aside I'd like to add the following comment, people really should wait 18 months or so to let soft tissue work completely heal before thinking they need additional surgery.  The human body can take quite awhile to recover from extensive surgery.

It really can take awhile for all the swelling to go down after surgery.  I had a lot of work done, including corrective work for a collapsed nasal valve.  While I was happy with bone and soft tissue FFS procedures I was unhappy with the results from the nasal valve repair.  I had quite a bit of issue with my right frontal sinus not working properly.  Then ~ 6 weeks ago or so ago it started working properly, I can tell air is flowing well into my right front sinus.  I can now sleep on my right side without waking up completely congested.

Anyway, life goes on.  I'm back to living my life.

Also, hair transplants turned out awesome.

I had never thought hair transplants until I read Ruby documenting her trip to Buenos Aires.    After she reported having hair transplants done I started thinking about them too.
