A transgender beauty pageant hosted by Kellie Maloney is under fire, after offering the winner all-expenses-paid gender reassignment surgery in India.

The Miss Transgender UK pageant, which is set to take place later this month, will be hosted by former boxing promoter and UKIP candidate Kellie Maloney.

It does seem a bit demeaning to be offering what should be basic transgender healthcare as a prize, especially in a country that already offers this care, but as we have been reading the system is becoming overwhelmed with tremendous backlogs. And offering the surgery in India? I thought Thailand was the destination of choice. (Just kidding)
