I feel frustrated after my doctor visit :(

So this was our first meeting because I just moved and I got some bad news. My doctor thinks I'm on a high dosage and that my chest is at stage four for breast development. She judged this by looking at me with my shirt on, but I still feel sad because she is a doctor and probably knows what she's talking about. I look exactly like stage 2 though as far as size, shape, and roundness go. Not only that but she's said "given your age your development can be slower." I'm only 27 and I've only gotten to stage 2 after 8 months? Either that or I've gotten to stage 4 (assuming she is correct) after 8 months and my development has been SUPER fast, yet I have the same breast size and shape that I started with, which is like a AA cups. I've also been eating very heavy meals lately to put on weight in an effort to help this and I actually have lost 10% of my body weight since starting that for some reason. I'm thinking about not working out for a while too because I'm getting really discouraged when it comes to HRT and I need to gain some weight or something. She asked about genetics and I doubt it's that. Every other woman in my family (Mom, GMom, 4 aunts) are all D+ cup sizes. It felt like she didn't care. She didn't want to look at the fact that I'm frustrated because I haven't developed and remedy it with any kind of medical treatment. Instead I felt she was just looking for reasons that it's happening. So today she drew blood and told me to make an appointment in 2 months. That seems like a long time when nothing is happening. No new medicine or dosages either. She just told me to give it time and I'm tired of doing that with this inexplicable lack of development while other people's major results don't include trivial things like breast tenderness.

I feel that I don't know how to find a good doctor either. My first was an endo who didn't do anything but initial screening when it came to lab work and this one seems inexperienced with trans. I initially contacted this group because the local LGBT center recommend and OGBYN that they gave an award and everything to. I tried to book an appointment with her, then the medical group switches me to a different doctor who is just a GP and is the doctor that I've been talking about in most of my post. She needed to pull up an online manual today to see what the recommended care is for someone like me. :/

I'm so incredibly frustrated... I don't know what to do anymore because I look the same as the day that I started. It takes a month to get an appointment around here with anyone too. If anyone has some advice please share it with me, because all I can think to do is to switch doctors yet again.

I was on hormones for over 25 years and still don't fill out a B cup. I was about 12 pounds overweight at my peak and that didn't make a difference. About the only solution for me is to remain slim so what little assets I have show up better. I personally reject the idea of breast implants because they aren't trouble free and I have reached the limit on the number of surgery I am willing to under go (seven to date). If it really bothered me, I might consider a padded bra but I have decided to become comfortable with my body as it is.

Don't you find that hard to do? I feel that if I could decide what to like that I'd probably just end up liking my male body for financial reasons.

Accepting my male body, no. What I accept is an athletic female body. I don't have much in the way of curves but I do have some breast and over time my legs have taken a more feminine shape. My wast is small enough that naked I see a female body in the mirror even if it's not real shapely. Few of us can have the body of our dreams. I will always be tall and my chest will be larger than female norms but I have been naked in a female shower and closely inspected with no complaints from the others. All I really ask for is a female body and that is what I have.

What you are describing is what many CIS women feel as well. There is a big business in plastic surgery giving women that ideal look. I am not saying it's wrong because I had my nose cleaned up and my adams apple shaved and while my face could use a touch up, I hope to age gracefully. If breast size is important to you, go for the implants in a few years after you know you have reached full potential. I haven't seen a picture of you or your body and it could be you do need more breast size to make your body work. I am just lucky that I can make my body work pretty much as is.

8 months is a drop in the bucket. Give it 5 years. If you're unhappy, get implants. Your Dr talking about "stages" strikes me as weird. Especially considering she didn't examine them, and even if she did, it's still weird.

I'm going to second the comment that 8 months isn't really all that long. It takes several years for Cis girls to develop, so you shouldn't expect it to happen overnight.

yeah 8 months is like barely anything, your body is still making the switch to estrogen. About the tanner stages its not really an exact thing, some people skip certain stages. It's more of a guide as to how your breasts will develop. I went from AA to like full A/small b in about 3 years and hitting stage 4 at like 2.5 years. It's pretty easy to tell which stage you're at but you'd have to actually examine the breast, sounds like you need a new doc.

Since some of the stages are about how the nipple/areola look... without X-ray vision, she can't have seen it. I wouldn't take that judgment seriously.

And I'm another seconding that breast growth takes 5-10 years in cis girls, and 8 months is often not even enough to see more than breast buds. (I only just noticed, looking at old pictures, that my nipples and areolae didn't change basically at all for the first 18 months, and was startled to realize that in the 4 or so years since they've like quadrupled in size.) Give it time.
