More than one FFS surgeon?

I don't know if this has been talked about before but I'm making this thread because I'm wondering if anyone here has ever had gone to more than one FFS surgeon for different facial procedures. For example, you might like one surgeon's forehead work but not so much his nose work. Or you may choose to go to one FFS surgeon because he does great jaw or chin shaping work, but hairline correction? Not so much.

While I'm waiting until I've saved up for FFS, I'm still looking into who I might go to. Because I'm still unsure I think I just might go to multiple surgeons for different procedures, and I know I'm definitely going to Dr. Christine McGinn for SRS.
They say identity theft is a crime. Well, needless to say, a crime has been committed. My identity has been stolen. No, no one knows my social security number or has my credit card. I'm walking around in the wrong body. I'm wearing a costume which I cannot remove... and the only way I can remove that costume, is through surgery

I had my FFS split up into two phases, with one phase completed about 3 months ago.

Looking forward to my second phase :)

I had type 3 forehead reconstruction, rhinoplasty with osteotomy, and a cheeklift by Dr. Meltzer in 2007; lip lift, tracheal shave, BA, and liposuction by Dr. Chettawut in 2007; Jaw (with masseter muscle reduction) and chin recontouring, necklift, and bilateral lower blepharoplasty by Dr. Zukowski in September 2015.

Suggest you get someone who does NOT try to do everything - -  to do the FFS  and then the BA  and then the SRS

It would be hugely more expensive to divide up the FFS in to multiple procedures.   Probably nearly double the total cost to divide that up among three surgeries instead of one.

Also,  if you are doing the forehead Type III - -  you really need to have the nose work done at the same time as they can work on the upper nose when they have the forehead skin taken down to work on the eyebrows.

I really wish I had done my nose and forehead at the same time, because I have a high nasal bridge that I would like lowered. I'm getting my nose redone soon, but I'm not touching my forehead again and I just hope this surgeon can lower it anyway. If anyone can, it's him, he's been doing it for about 30 years.

I was told after consulting with the Facial Team that there would be no issue doing Rhinoplasty and Forehead separately given the shape of my nose and forehead.

Perhaps it depends on the individual.

Consult with your doctor

Hi Bella, which Doctor are you going to get your nose done, and do you mind telling me if he is expensive??
Much Money, Much Pain, Many Moons.

I would prefer to write that in a PM. How many posts do I need for PMs to be enabled?

:) LOL have you forgotten what recovery is like????  :)

Recovery from type 3 forehead was a breeze for me, compared to what I've been going through after jaw and chin surgery 5 weeks ago; if I had had it done in reverse order, I would have dreaded my forehead surgery.

I have also heard that forehead recovery is not so bad.

I found the chin recovery a little uncomfortable but the BA was just pure pain for 7 days.

I had a lot of pain after my BA too; I had 500cc silicone implants inserted through incisions in my armpits; ouch!

I thought the forehead recovery was DREADFUL! Perhaps it depends on the surgeon. Dr Suporn's forehead surgery is a 5 - 6 hour ordeal, I believe.

coronal incision.  the scar is hidden in the hair.

Skillful,  Experienced,  Craniofacial trained,  Board Certified Plastic Surgeon ?

That will usually get one forehead surgery without the noticeable scar.

my scar is hidden in my hairline; it's very thin and light, and since hair is growing in the scar it isn't noticeable, unless you are looking for it, or you're doing my hair :)
