Hi. Does anyone have any tips on how to breakdown muscle quickly? I so wish I didn't play football for all those years! It has left me very broad across my back and chest and I so badly want to be smaller. Any tips?

Hi Laura,

There's really no quick ways to do anything regarding the body. It has it's own sweet way to manage itself. Obviously if you don't work those muscles, they will atrophy in their own good time.

Are you on HT at all?

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Maybe for the time being your clothes fashion will have to hide your broad shoulders.

Speak to you as soon as I post my Christmas cards.

Catherine is right, losing muscles is not a quick process. If you are on estrogen this will help facilitate the process but I believe reducing animal proteins in your diet and non weight bearing aerobic exercise will help to some degree...

Starvation is the quickest way but is highly not recommended due to the side effect of death.

There is no quick way.  It just happens over time.

Yeah not sure about that. I can tell you my experience.

I was never very 'built' as a guy but after years going thru HRT, I definitely look built for a woman. I've gotten comments about it like 'you look like you could kick someone's ass' ....it's kind of uncomfortable.

Mind you, I do work out at the gym but not a lot. I went the last year only working abs and butt and my arms still look pretty muscular. I feel like it's purely based on having testosterone in my system for 28 years.

I'm getting to a place where I don't care....I look like a 'fit' woman at this point and that's ok. Learning to 'own' it.

Yeah I even tried that for 3-6 months...went mostly vegan and didn't experience any of the slimming down I thought I would....mind you, I was kind of miserable.....just not meant to be vegan I guess lol

Thanks girls. I've just started her. Only a low dose of estrogen though. Hope that the dose gets increased next appointment with the endocrinologist. Guess I'm just impatient!
