Question is, if she or any of the other candidates push this issue, what can they do they prevent it? What can be done to stop this violence beyond them saying "don't do it!"? Most of these crimes are committed by either being in an unsafe area where any lgbt could be attacked, or us not being strait with a partner about our past, only to find out they have flaws too. Most cases seem to end up with these 2 scenarios unless I'm not hearing it correctly?
I'd like to hear input on what I've brought up if true or not. It's like the gun issue unfortunately. Nobody will decide, like in the first case I brought up, if we shouldn't be in that area, or if the people in that area should be trained better? I know you will say we have a right to go into an unsafe area, but I wouldn't go there on the premise of "you can't fix stupid!" As for the partner issue, we shouldn't have to divulge our past, yet temporary insanity is something that may only go away after a few generations of people learning through school or other ways of social contact we are good members of society.. I just don't think I'd like to be the first one who found the crazy person with issues about me! Yea, they may get help, but at what cost to me or you?
So, this issue should always be addressed, but it is still up to us to protect ourselves and be honest when it is necessary.. your life will always depend on it, just don't expect others to change.. These discussions may lower the tragic statistics, but there will always be those who didn't get the memo that we are not to be harmed:(
