Hi y'all!
I just wanted to mention briefly what happened. I used to weigh close to 300 pounds, with a pretty high blood pressure to boot. I was on two different blood pressure meds, then came the spiro.
I was on a low dose at first then was given the green light for the standard dosage. Now with all of my weight loss (over 50# so far), we kind of forgot about the two blood pressure meds since my pressure was regulating on its own.
As you know, spiro is a K sparing diuretic with an inherent knack for lowering blood pressure to a degree. Boom boom boom; I think you can see why I bottomed out.
So, the two pressure meds are a thing of the past and my spiro got halved for just a month and I'll be back to the full dose in a couple more weeks.
Just a small example for anyone wishing to self-medicate; you can hurt yourself really bad if not under a doctor's care (reputable). I have two excellent physicians (one family and one endo) and while although the family doc missed the ball, we were still able to recover (btw, I hear that he got an earful from my endo).
Y'all be safe!
Marlo
