"A Christian group has submitted evidence to Parliament's trans inquiry – claiming that children should be protected from learning about trans people.

The Evangelical Alliance submitted evidence to the Women and Equalities Select Committee's transgender inquiry,  claiming that trans people should not be given treatment because "a person cannot change their sex"."

"We believe that while human rights of transsexual people clearly should be protected, these rights must be fairly balanced against the rights of others who do not share the agendas and narratives of some of the transsexual community or their advocates and who may consider associated legislation as imposing an obligation to connive with untruth and illusion. Accordingly the rights of those who believe it is right to respond to transsexuality as a psychological condition to be treated like other psychological conditions through holistic psychotherapy, truth and common sense, compassion and personal pastoral support must continue to be protected."

Why must people be so blind.  No wonder society takes one step forward only to go two steps back.  I had a harsher response but i am trying to be a good girl.

I could complain about this, and give a nice long rant mainly involving hypocrisy and religious fanaticism and something involving the Dark Ages, Catholic Christianity, death of numerous religions, almost including my own, and humanity's technological advancement, but I've recently started following the principle of never insulting anyone else's religion.
So no, I won't do that. But this is still completely unacceptable, and I have exactly zero respect for the people in this Christian group, or for anyone who supports them.

I'm a bit disappointed with the article calling Opinion evidence. I thought evidence was based upon facts.

Facts are: Young people suffer gender dysphoria and know when the body doesn't line up with the mind.
a fact is, ignoring the situation or worse yet reparative therapy can lead to suicide.

but as we saw with the evangelicals in the US their conference said that death by suicide was preferable than the sin of transgender change.

I hope Parliament understands facts and biased opinion.
