""Please help fix society." The words stung as I read them, remembering the same plea coming from Leelah Alcorn just under a year ago. Unfortunately, this wasn't a quote from Leelah though. It was the final sentence of a public Facebook post made yesterday by 26-year-old Ashley Hallstrom, who reportedly died by suicide shortly afterwards."

I sometimes have a hard time with these stories because I can't help but wonder what the number actually is. I'm sure there are others out there who have taken their own lives and not left a note online, or who weren't recognised as transgender by their family and friends. I wouldn't be.

My heart goes out to Ashley, and those affected by her passing.

so sad, the numbers are probably higher. No one would of known in my case.

   How about our own Kira 357 ? She was not on the so called list as well as several others. Passed and buried under their false birth names.We will never know the true number and to think at one time I was almost one of them. P
