Hello All,

It's fast becomming the time when I need to decide which surgeon to choose for SRS.
A few years ago,I read many discussions on surgeons , techniques and folks personal experiences (Possibly too many).
I guess I'm at a point now where I'm struggling to decide who to choose. Adding to my struggles,I have read recently about Dr Schaff and gather he uses a different techique creating a "cervix" which some people have said is an old technique most surgeons no longer offer.

I am paying for the surgery myself, and although I will be stretched financially, cost will not be the deciding factor in who I eventually go with.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Oh, nearly forgot to mention I'm based in London.

Bye for now

First, this is my personal opinion, please do your due diligence and look further into it...

Concerning lubrication, there are studies showing that tissue can turn into a mucosa with hormone influence over time:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,149304.msg1682002.html#msg1682002

So self lubrication might be possible regardless of technique...
using an estrogen cream from time to time and maybe some other means might help:
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,190515.msg1697107.html#msg1697107

Brassard seems to have streamlined his process, some candidates say its a "rim vagina" look, and depth seem to be in the range of 5,5 in...
there is a recovery house included, and people seem to be sent home after 10-12 days...

Suporn seems to prefer a more pronounced outer labia... and depth on average seems to be good because of a special technique...
drawback is a longer recovery and possibly painful dynamic dilation...
and some people report not so streamlined meaning more variance and some well endowed candidates reported some problems...

some people reported some problems with adhesions with Chettawut, maybe this could be talked through with him before an operation...
https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,190787.msg1699717.html#msg1699717

imo one drawback with the cervix technique was a risk of more bleeding...
there is one member lara1969 who described his technique, you might look it up and maybe even ask her...

Well, here's my personal review of Brassard : https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,182064.msg1614537.html#msg1614537

I don't actually see much point to having a cervix, but maybe that's just me.

I don't actually see much point to having a cervix, but maybe that's just me.

From what I have read he creates a lining of the vagina with mucosal tissue from the leftover urethra.
If its in the form of a cervix was not mentioned.
Lara1969 said she lubricates well.
From the studies above its possible the tissue of the neovagina turns into mucosa over time, with any technique.

Brassard and other surgeons from the us use the leftover urethra to line the labia.
This makes for a pink look.

Laura : Hmm, OK, for possible lubrication I could understand it. (The urethral tissue that I have relocated definitely does make things look nice and pink and mucosal, but the lubrication is basically slight moistness - not even enough to need a pantyliner - so I'm not sure how much it would help for sex. Though as I've said, I self-lubricate sufficiently anyway, so there's that...) I don't think there can possibly be enough urethral tissue to form a whole vaginal canal, though, so it must be supplemented somehow.

From what I have read the urethral tissue lines the vagina, like a lighting in a tunnel.
It does not cover the whole neovagina.
It should help some with lubrication.

Imo the most lubrication comes from the urethra, someone described it like a few drops of a very slippery substance.
Quite a few people say they lubricate, and if the tissue additionally is turned into a mucosa it should make for a very good lubrication.

Quite a few people say they get really wet.
Maybe one part is letting go... like in a gspot orgasm... not holding in but letting it flow...

Hello Dr. Alexander Sinclair out of Los Angeles was my choice.  No assemble line found there just very competent personalized service.  He only preforms one SRS a day, 3 days a week.

Great depth, sensation, recovery.
Good hospital care and no long waiting period.
Visually my CIS friends say it looks like the real thing. Feels like one too!

Thank you,
Anne

Interesting.  He's not a surgeon I've heard much about, but the result shown on his site is absolutely amazing.  Any idea how much he charges from soup to nuts for SRS?  LA is a city I really love, so it'd be a great place for me to spend a couple of weeks, even if all I see of the place is from the inside of a hospital room or hotel.

He seems to have very quick recovery times as well.  Back to work in a few weeks after surgery (my surgeon asks for a few months off if possible - same technique too), and sex allowed after three months.  Enticing.  (The back to work quickly stuff, not the sex.  Nobody to have it with :()

Thanks for pointing him out.

Hello StartingOver, they had a price increase since my SRS was scheduled and performed.  I think its up to $22,900.  Includes 3 nights in hospital.  Dr. Sinclair worked with a urologist to get through the surgery quicker.

I pushed myself to get back to work ASAP, that ended up being a really bad idea.  I was still in a lot of pain and discomfort at 3-4 weeks.  Felt much better at the 8 week mark.  I resumed normal working and shopping trips to malls at that time.
Swelling in the pubic area was a real drag, concern and problem, it really looked ugly and bulgy.  All swelling seems to have disappeared.  I am overjoyed how flat and petite the surgery area now looks.

You mentioned the sample picture of the post SRS on his site looking good.  My results look better and much more natural.  My CIS friends are amazed and honestly so am I.  It's amazing to see my neo-vagina in mirrors and know it's mine.

I think my new body is 4 weeks away from being ready for sexual intercourse.  Finding a lover is not a problem (lots of takers) finding the right guy to take as my lover is.
Thank you,
Anne

Thank you all for replying to my post :-)
Apologies for not replying sooner myself, I read them went to another page and lost this thread ( I now know how to find them again).

Laura_7,
I must say I have been considering Brassard quiet a lot. Can you tell me, are his prices quoted in Canadian Dollars? Do you know anyone that has had voice surgery at his practice?

Jameskenny2015,
I have never heard of this company before, thank you for letting me know. I will look them up, although I think I will still ask people here about their own experiences too.

00Anne,
There you go ! I hadn't heard of this surgeon before and now I have another to research :-)
Does he have other pics available, I can only see one on his website.

Jenna Marie,
I read your post,Thanks :-)

Thanks Again,

Rachel

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but you can go to a site called transbucket. People post photos of their surgeries and you can compare the work between different doctors. They have a pretty large list on there and you can filter out what surgery you want to look at.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

Hello Rachel, I was not sold on the post-operative picture Dr. Sinclair has on his site.  When I met with him he did show me more.  Honestly for me it was more about getting it done ASAP.  And bonus! in Los Angeles.  Much rather be 72 days post-op, looking forward to intercourse than waiting and suffering through 379 additional days for SRS with Dr. Marci Bowers.

For reference, my neo-vagina looks (currently) straight out of a Playboy or Penthouse magazine from the 1980's.
My results are stunning, can't wait to hear what the guys think!

Thank you,
Anne

I saw your video on youtube and I was kind of worried because I had never heard of that doctor before. I am so happy it all turned out perfect for you. I wish you a successful life as a complete woman :)

Hello Possessed,  oh no my videos.  Not sure how much longer I will keep some public.  They have a negative impact on dating.  I do plan to record at least a couple more before finalizing the series.  People CIS and Trans. all want to know how it turned out.  Important considering I completed the 'transition' process in less than 10 months with SRS in May.  That story does need to be told.

I understand that my choice of Dr. Sinclair for SRS surgeon was rare.  Honestly he is a hidden jem.  He loves the community.  He is encouraging, compassionate and at times stern.

Went back to him last Wednesday for what I had originally sought from him, rhinoplasty.  Looking forward to my new profile that will hopefully make me more passable.  In the post Caitlyn World the bar has been raised very high!

Thank you,
Anne

Thanks RaptorChops, not too many mtf pic on there but it was still worth a look :-)

Laura_7,
It would appear that it's Canadian Dollars, Thanks for the links. Think I may be going elsewhere for vocal surgery though.

00Anne,
I will look into Dr Sinclair a little more :-) do you know of anyone else here that's had their surgery with him ?

OCAnne

Hello Rachel, I do not personally know any of Dr. Sinclair's post-operative patients.  Two of his SRS patients and myself often have similar appointments.  They appear to be full stealth, one had a personal assistance in tow.
Their surgery dates followed mine in mid May.  One 9 day post-op woman looked very good.  Did not show any sign of pain or discomfort.  I was not so lucky.

His practice tends to be a bit more low key.  He does not brag or name drop.  He appears on E! TV Shows and reminds me 'it's a TV Show they do a lot of editing'.

Sinclair girls are very rare.  You don't find any? in the wild!  And speaking of wild.  OMG the grand prize for undergoing SRS. Wearing a string bikini bottom!  Looks totally tripendicular fur sure!

Thank you,
Anne

I'm going to look in to Dr Sinclair also. I like the one result he has on his page and it says that they work with insurance.

Anne, would it be possible for you to contact me via PM, because I also live in Los Angeles and I would love to have tips from you (I also know of Dr. Sinclair!)
