Hi everyone. I had such a wonderful time with my partner a few days ago and It was so emotional. I cried at numerous points during the day out of happiness and it was the most intimate day that we have had so far. We must have spent more time staring at each other, hugging, kissing etc than anything else.

Now unfortunately, I am coming down from that high and the fact that my partner is not here is really getting to me. We don't live close enough geographically in order to see each other that often and we can't move in together at the moment, so when we see each other, it is such a wonderful time but we end up feeling upset the next day. Does anyone else know how I feel? Also does anyone have any tips for dealing with these emotions? I feel like most of today I have done nothing and felt a bit down and I cried a few minutes ago when I hugged my pillow. I feel like I am so empty without her and I feel like I can't be bothered to do any of the things I normally do. I would give anything to be with her right now. My pillow just isn't a good enough replacement for her. I need hugs xxxxxxx

I definitely feel you - I'm also in a long distance relationship, and it does suck, especially with my gender issues thrown in. we cope by trying to talk every other day - every day can be difficult so every other day is achievable target that doesn't cause either of us guilt. I also email him pictures and things, just dumb stuff from the internet, but it makes me feel better haha.

Maybe try to have something to distract yourself, work or hobbies or whatever. Making sure I can tell my bf that I've actually done some work is a good motivator for me lol. I like to collect some stories in my head to tell him next time we're together, plan what we can do together... thinking about next time i'll see him is better than thinking about how he's not here.

Well you could meet via skype...

and there are a few things that can be done in a ldr
you could read a book together... each their own one, and later talk about it...

Thanks for your lovely replies. I am feeling a bit better today. What doesn't help is when I get genital dysphoria while she is a way. I need lots of comforting when it happens. She will be home from work soon and then we can talk on the phone again. It's not the same as being able to physically be with each other though. xxxxxx
