hey there, does 1575 sound like a fair price for laser treatment of full face?normally it would be 3000 at the place I'm looking at, but they have a Halloween special, 50% off...

That is similar to a place I found in Atlanta that advertises $1450 for eight sessions on the face and neck for mtf trans.

Awesome, thanks. Since this is Bay Area, I'm guessing it is indeed a good deal.

I'm in NC and I paid $1100 for 12 sessions of laser to my whole body. I'm only 3 sessions in and I'm already seeing substantial results.

The place is called Pure Med Spa. See if there's one in your area. I'm not sure how large of a chain they are.

I negotiated that price mind you. It was originally $1600 for 9 sessions...

A negotiation eh? I may have to give that a go. Can you give me an idea on about how much facial hair is gone and about how long it took to see results? Looking online, it seems like I will have to grow out my hair for 4 weeks at a time (most say that is a minimum, and my hair is dark and grows pretty quick), and they are quoting about 10 sessions. That would be about 9-10 months, sound right? Is it one of those things where the first 80% clears up quickly and the other 20% is a challenge? Sure hope so... Not that I am able to express myself as Kelsey often anyways, but it would be nice to feel more in tune mentally and physically.

Well, I shave my face every day, not sure why they'd ask you to grow it out. On the day of the laser treatment, the closer the shave, the better.

I saw results almost instantly. After the second session I noticed I still had some brown hairs on the underside of my chin, but now I barely notice any. I have a rather substantial amount of blonde facial hair though, which makes me sad...

Usually it is recommended to go 6-8 weeks between sessions. 10 sessions sounds about right. That would be closer to 18 months though. You will see most of the results early on, but you have to keep doing it to get the stragglers.

I did a groupon. I think it was $300 for face. I'm VERY shocked I got legs for an additional $350. I thought legs would be 400-500 or more. I'm planning on doing everything.

Is it just me, or is lazer hair removal getting cheaper recently?  I just got a groupon for 199$ for full face for 8 sessions (over the course of 1 year) and it's an 810nm diode Soprano XL, not a cheap unit.

It costs almost nothing to operate. So by dropping the cost you get a LOT more people. If you balance it right you can earn more money that way.

I found a place locally that does by-the-area/by-the-session pricing.  Their stated price is ~ $600 for a full body and ~$150 for the face per session, although you can do lots in between.  I've never actually paid the full price because I was never hairy and getting less so with each treatment, so my fifth full-body was only $200 since that was all they could justify.  At one point they turned me away after getting me in and naked before concluding I had nothing they could laser productively regardless of what the calendar said.  After six treatments, anything further is half-price, so each trip for my face from here on out would only be $75.  Touch-ups a couple of weeks after treatment are free.  I can't complain.

When in doubt, ignore the moral judgments of anybody who engages in cannibalism.

Ok, so I went in today for the quote and ended up at 999.00 out the door, but we settled for $1,000 even so I can do the 1 year interest free option. Score! Pretty happy to get the ball rolling. First appt on Thursday. I need to remember to ask about HRT during laser removal... there was a question about whether or not hormone supplements were being taken. They aren't currently but definitely in the future :-/

There's a place in Burbank, CA, Flawless Laser, that I got face for 70 for 6 sessions and 200/6 sessions for legs.

Is that... really cheap or what?
Or... are you all over paying?? o_o

That could be normal.  I got a groupon here for 8 treatments for full face over the course of 1 year for 199$, but 70$ is still a steal.

Definitely paying more at this place, but I feel ok about it. This company has a good presence and has been in the biz for awhile. So far the service is fantastic, they use decent tech from what I've read online, and the laser staff are medically trained - this is important to me because of the possibilities of causing damage to skin! The person who helped me with the quote had three treatments to his upper lip over the past year and was able to personally attest to the removal of facial hair.
Anywho, Pretty jazzed. It is also around the corner from my therapist, so I can schedule back to back appointments. That's a bonus @ the 16 mpg I get... If lucky.

I was told not to wax or use tweezers 10 days prior to the sessions. And a closer shave is a must

The appt went really well but holy heck I wasn't expecting that level of discomfort! The lady said she was really amazed with how well I did, but maybe she tells everyone that. Whatever. Next round in 4 weeks. If I could do it sooner I would, but the 4 week break is kind of nice.

Yep! That's what they told me too. Went and bought sunscreen too, something about staying out of the sun and covering up.

4 weeks sounds kinda early.. isn't the minimum 6 weeks for proper follicle growth to target, and 8 preferred?

I've always read 4-6, and they said 4 would be fine. I'll press them and see what they say... too expensive to have progress stunted by not waiting an extra week or two.
