Hi. I am Kate. I have just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I am here to make new friends in the transgender community and I have been told that this is a great place to find them. These bio's always seem tough to write and feel free to give me a slap if I go on about myself too much...LOL. 2015 has been a crazy year for me. I'm sure that most other trans people go through the same emotional rollercoaster that is 'coming out' to the world. Does it get easier? I bloody hope so. It is tough but the feeling of having that huge weight lifted of your shoulders is so liberating. LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN. x

Hi Kate,

A big Aussie welcome to Susan's family. It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in start talking and ask any question you like. You're quite safe here and we are very accepting.

Yep. It does get easier, only the first 100 years are the worse.  ;D ;D. I think you're on the right path. The more open and honest you are with yourself the more authentic you become. That's when the fun really starts.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.

Lotsa huggs
Catherine

Thank you ever so much for the warm welcome. It does feel quite upsetting trying to put into words exactly how I feel right now. A mixture of emotions from joy to sadness and back again. I guess it is a feeling that is shared by most trans people as they discard the old and discover the new. I think the thing for me is the isolation I am experiencing. I am very lucky indeed that all of my friends and family have been totally supportive but none of them can know what it actually feels like, hence my decision to get more involved with the transgender community. I am hoping that this decision will over time help to me to understand myself a little more and to allow these negative emotions to dissipate. Kate. x

I know how you feel hun, the isolation can make you feel terrible but it won't last.
Once you start exploring your local LGBTIQAA groups you will find many new friends who can help you on your journey.
Hugs,
Sarah
