http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2015/10/29/ministers-urged-to-clarify-laws-after-trans-woman-sent-to-male-prison/

Pink News/By Nick Duffy   10/29/2015

"It emerged earlier this week that 26 year old trans woman Tara Hudson has been sentenced to 12 weeks in the all-male Bristol Prison after an assault conviction.

Current policy states that a Gender Recognition Certificate is required for trans prisoners to be placed in the correct prison for their gender, which Ms Hudson did not have despite living full-time as female for six years."

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/oct/29/transgender-prisoner-tara-hudson-sexually-harassed-hmp-bristol

The Guardian/Damien Gayle Thursday 29 October 2015 12.16 EDT

"A transgender woman who was sent to an all-male prison has complained that she is being sexually harassed by other prisoners.

Tara Hudson, 26, who was born male but has lived her entire adult life as a woman, was sent to HMP Bristol last week after admitting assault over a Boxing Day bar fight. Since then nearly 110,000 people have signed a petition calling for her to be transferred. "
