I just got my first smart phone and my voice needs a lot of work. Does anyone know what is best to use or what results you can get?

The little I've done, has just been using my smartphone as the recorder while learning on my laptop.  I'm also curious if there are good apps to use out there?

If you have android, I like the app "Voice Pitch Analyzer". It tells you whether your voice is in the male range, andro, or female range.

Hey. Welcome to Susan's. And thank you for the app name. Just tried it out; it lets you speak as it records and then it gives you min/max frequency. Averages are min/max and general. It gives you an estimate in what range your voice is, according to the ranges presumably.

One thing that would be useful to have in the app is showing you those values as you speak. E.g. in a window of the last 20 seconds of your speech. Having that displayed as a real time graph would be awesome.

Here is an example from a pc program:

There is a trial-version of an android app that does this. It's called "Voice Analyst Lite".
