Hurry up and wait

My assessment at the local gender clinic is in less than three weeks now, and I'm somewhat anxious. I really want to start T as soon as possible, but what if they tell me that I have to wait? I really don't think I can wait much longer.

Trying not to worry too much. My girlfriend is certain that I'm not going to be forced to wait or (my ultimate fear) refused treatment.

Still, it's hard.

Have you looked at the guidelines for your country or the clinic's info? Treatment guidelines and criteria might give you an idea of how long/ if you'll have to wait.

It seems to vary. The guidelines I've found so far for waits prior to HRT are based on "individual assessment".

I had to wait about 2 months for T, after my first therapy appointment. I ended up not needing therapy but let me tell you, when you're finally 1 month, or even one WEEK on T. You'll have forgotten about the wait. Good luck man. it's a gender clinic. Hopefully they'll know what they're doing

Your worries and concerns are totally normal. I can remember my thinking HRT would be delayed and not given at the first visit to the Endo or that it would be denied all together too, but all to often these fears are nothing really to fear. It is true they may want baselines and other tests to check health before starting, but you shouldn't have to wait to long. Good luck and Hugs
