Has anyone seen Doctor Who?
It has the potential to be a TG show, though I don't think it will be, do to popular demand.

There was one TG element in a audio drama called Exile but on to the story of the main series, for those who haven't seen it.

The Doctor is part of a species known as the "Time Lords" and he travels in time, most of the time with an "entourage" of 2-3 people.
While time traveling in his ship (known as "the T.A.R.D.I.S" which stands for Time And Relative Dimensions In Space)he finds many things wrong with time and does what he can to correct each event, and fights bad guys, such as the "Daleks"(pronounced Daaleks?) or the "Cyber-Men" or the "Tokla-fane" and many other species, sometimes other Time Lords even and more amazing forces.

it has a spin off show known as "Torchwood" starring Captain Jack Harkness, who was at one point a companion of "the Doctor".

I have only seen the recent incarnation of the series, but in the short time I have seen it/them, it/they is/are already (both Doctor Who and Torchwood) some of my absolute favorite series I have ever seen.

I guess... any thoughts?

Erm,

Yeah, I grew up with Sylvester McCoy the seventh Dr and with the re-runs of some of the Pertwee and Baker episodes. I've also been to a talk by one of the writers of the new shows. Gotta say that sometimes they are fantastic and sometimes a little bit lame. But when they work there is very little like the fun. The concept of flying around space/time in a blue box are pretty attractive.
Not keen on Torchwood though, I found that derivative, and any secret organisation that has the name of their organisation on their car is just silly.

I thought Torchwood was great...but you bring up a good point about the Torchwood name being on the car  :D :D
I still like it though

as for the Tardis...I highly agree, traveling in time, in a blue Phone box is a bit attractive, and it would be fun traveling with "the doctor"

I want to be the Dr, I'll have jeans a t-shirt and a very peculiar coat.

I remember sitting with my mother and watching the very first episode of Dr Who on our tiny B&W tv back in the 1960's.

It looks a bit tame now, but William Hartnell made a pretty scary doctor back then, and when they wheeled the Daleks out for the first time, just about every kid in the country needed a change of underwear.

Scary stuff!  :icon_yikes:

I want to get the first 18 episodes on dvd, but they are $50.00...and recent seasons are $100 >:( >:(
but they they are kinda imported for those in the US, so it somewhat makes sense... ???

The Dalek's were really spooky when I first saw them (Dalek's in Manhattan)
But what Sec did still kinda shocks me, knowing more about the Dalek's and how they were created....

I grew up with the "Tom Baker" era in the early 80's, re-runs on PBS then right after Dr. Who we watched "Monty Pythons Flying Circus" PBS re-runs as well. Both shows were my introduction to british humor.

Still a big fan to this day!!!

Love hearing "Tom Baker" do the skit monologs on "Little Britain", which if you haven't seen it IS HILARIOUS!!! Only on BBC America right now. Worth paying for cable / satelite.

Errrr I remember William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton, when they played the Doctor.

The original black and white TV series used to scare the life out of me, when you where young the Daleks where horrible.

I have the Torchwood series on DVD, some episode are very good.

It's only funny the first few times. How anyone can go three series playing the exact same joke in the exact same way and be as popular as they are, I will never understand.
