Will hormone effect hairline at all?

This has been discussed alot in this forum but here is a summary of what I understand.

Male pattern baldness will stop and depending on the individual will show regrowth. Some who have mild male pattern baldness can experience completee filling of new hairs in the former bald areas. Ax a ruld of thumb.... if there is even fluff and thin hairs in the balding spots that Hormones will encourage the regrowth over time. I also understand that if the bald area has no hair at all, not even fluff that the regrowth change is limited.

I had mild male pattern baldness on the side and thinning on the top. Today some 2.5 years plus later I have a full head of hair and its still growing thicker with alot of new growth.

I generally agree, though it's my understanding that, so far as the hairline goes, when it's gone it's gone.

I have a pretty advanced receeding hairline and had next to no hair on the crown and top of my head. Now, a year into Dutasteride & Minoxidil, I've got loads of hair on the top of my head, with more rolling in as time advances relentlessly forward, but have seen little improvement across the hairline.

Once I'm happy I've done all I can with meds it'll be a job for surgery to deal with the front, which is a bummer, but you do what you can with the hand you're dealt.

It can, but not always. I have filled back in a good amount myself. It's not something you can always count on, but it should stop anymore hair loss.Hugs

I can vouch for that, well a tiny bit of regrowth.
Age and how long MPB has been experienced also affects recovery.

My hairline grew back around 2 inches.  When I first started HRT, almost a year ago, there were a couple of stray hairs that looked like they were sitting *way* off in the middle of my forehead.  I was going to pluck them, but decided to leave them there to see what happened.  As it turned out, about a month ago, my hairline advanced to the point those hairs are completely blended in!  My results are probably atypical, but I just wanted to let you know that it can happen.

I've found that HRT helps stop the damage from testosterone and there was some regrowth. In my case, I had a lot of fuzz (vellus hair) that maxed out at 1 cm. There is always a possibility that they'll eventually become regular terminal hair over the years but that wasn't good enough for me. I had hairline surgery last Thursday (12 Nov 2015). I think HRT effect directly to the hairline, but the effect is more or less on individual. Like your genetic, if your family have baldness. Or your age at starting HRT, the sooner the better, your health, etc. And there are alternate way to fix your hairline like hair transplant, or hairline surgery.

Me myself been on HRT for 10 years and my hairline is moving up too, I find that my hairline is higher than before. I tight my hair up a lot, I guess that might be another reason.
