I plan to take testosterone as little as possible; until my voice first starts to change... My question is that when I stop taking it, will my voice go back to normal? Or is it one of its permanent effects?

Thank you for the link, I was wondering if testosterone is the only thing that will change my voice...Are there other choices? And how many times do you have to take it in order to notice the first difference in the voice?

I took it for a month before I noticed real change- 2 months before there was significant change (aka my mother didn't recognize my voice on the phone). You can do the some type of voice practice/therapy that MTFs do to raise their voices, it can be used to lower the voice. Also, singing in a lower register is good practice. But really, testosterone is the only thing that makes a mostly seamless transition to the lower octaves because it thickens the vocal chords.

My voice changed without T so far, but if I don't consciously change it it still sounds...not male. But its gotten easier to lower it.
