My mom and her mom both died of breast cancer, yet I'm on my 3rd year of hrt.. my mom's sister just finally recovered after chemo from fighting breast cancer.... so yea, maybe I'm stupid for going this route, but it's my happiness that required at this point. 5 years of chemo, I guess I'm not scared of cancer anymore?
So, you can have your dna tested through like 23andme for the breast cancer gene.. usually you get it around 50 to 65 if you gave a gene for it. But if your female puberty is held back a couple decades, your chance of cancer may be lower by a couple decades if you see the logic in it?
To me, it's the ducts become stagnant with old milk and this creates a mess that causes the cancer. I decided to start expressing milk in small qtys to keep the ducts clear.. this can be accomplished by prolactin or oxytocin in small doses added to your hormones.. plus it just gives a good feeling:)
I doubt I ever make it to old age since I've already outlived my expiration date that was given to me because of my other disease.. but if I make it past 80 w/o cancer, I'll let ya know:)
But it's your choice to take hormones over a chance of breast cancer. With that chance, it just means more self checks more often and more mammograms more often to be safe.. new medicine is good if you catch the nasty thing early.. my grandma died because the medicine 3 decades ago was mostly voodoo and prayers.. mom died because she found her cancer after it had spread to her lungs and brain.. she was a nurse too and knew better:( so, it's your choice, personally I'm going to enjoy my life instead of wonder what could have been.. good luck:)
