NHS Wait time so long

Anyone else (preferably) in Wales experienced how slow the NHS is? I rang up the ''gatekeepers'' Secretary about 2 months ago and she confirmed I was on the next batch of people to be seen. I haven't had anything since then, no letters or phone calls, I am going to ring her on monday. All together its been 5 - 6 months since my local psychologist confirmed I was gender dysphoric / transgender.

Now I am not pulling my hair out over this but it would nice to have some news from them. After the gatekeeper I have to then wait for an endocrinologist appointment and have all the blood works done, bla bla bla. Takes forever!

I am from South Wales(UK) as well.
When I had my bloods done properly as they lost my DNA samples first time so I needed to retake , he then wrote to them around November/December last year. So I started on the waiting list for Charring cross around January I believe.
Its a Looooooooong wait. I have only just got my appointment.

I phoned charring cross hospital (I Wish we had a clinic here, 170 miles away sucks lol) myself to find out if I was on the waiting list to be honest. They only said about the average wait time as normal. Around 13 months these days they say, which nearly fits the bill since next month for my appointment will be 11 months.

The only letter I got prior to the appointment was a seminar talking about how they do things. That was around August.

That would involve trying to have a GP in England basically, far too much hassle at this point for me as I have already got my appointment in like 3 weeks, it no longer matters, lol.

Anyways I was explaining the normal route for someone in Wales from my experience.

Took me longer than that for my first GIC visit in the UK, be patient, time flies once they start seeing you! xx
