We all know the norms and I will not go into that.
What bugs me is this:
Gender Roles At Work.
For example a female working
on your care might get a few snide
remarks directed towards her.
Basically the fact that I work
on charter as a captain. I was formally
female I identify as male and have been for
many many years. Here is the thing.
When people board the large boat and if my boss is at the controls (My boss is a woman)
they say something like "Oh wow we have a woman as a captain, I hope we don't
sink." And If I'm at the controls, I often hear "Oh great it's a lesbian at the wheel! Dear god hope we don't crash."
What the above comments show is that, men don't think woman can the job of a captain.
it's sad as if you fact check this... *Women have better vision then men. *
Men and woman are equal in their brain power, meaning that they can do things
if they are trained in it correctly like:
Drive a large boat,Fix your car, Protect you, woman can handle complicated
situations. I mean I know I'm male but this dis-respectfulness,
directed at women is an attack! I mean I think the real thing is that Men,
feel then women are less then men or they say that women are stupid or something.
This is so wrong I mean I don't mind if the person working on my
truck is a gal, I mean if she knows what she is doing and the business
backs her up, then I have no problem. I think it's nice to see woman getting
into those BIG roles! I mean like CEO and Chairman and I notice
women do not show that EGO perv-ado crap that a good number of men show.
It just makes me so mad to see how men think women should be at work and play.
and yet if the woman decides to tell the man how to do stuff, that's like treason.
I asked another male captain why people seem to flip
when and if they get a sight of a woman on the bridge.
He said this:
"Most people just don't think that a woman
can or would be able to drive more then their car.
See it's not just a male dominated occupation that's
the problem, it's the fact that people don't understand
that it's not gender that chooses ones job but the mind
and the heart. "
What he said opened my eyes,
I makes since I choose my job based
on what I want and that I did not anything
else get in my way.
Anyone Agree or Disagree?
