So I'm about 4 months post op. I have yet to begin hormones again,  due to having to find another doctor. I've been breaking out in hives as well and swelling of the lips. It gets worse as time goes on... could this be related to hormone inbalance??

Re-starting HRT promptly after surgery is non optional. You cant just do it as and when you can. Please find a doctor - as a matter of urgency! Its impossible to say whether there is a connection, there are many other possible explanations, but in general if you have no sex steroids most of your body systems including the immune system will be impaired. So please don't delay. Very serious complications to your health can certainly result if you do.

Hives can be related to a vitamin D deficiency, if you've not been getting out in the sun much.

I have an appointment next thursday finally. Do you think I will be able to go to the emergency room and be prescribe hormones since I'm having these symptoms?

Loveless!  You are experiencing symptoms of an allergic reaction.  I know from experience. It's not likely that the lack of your HRT has anything to do with this.   Could be the introduction of a "new" medication or something as simple as a food allergy.  Regardless, don't play around with this.  In my case these reactions unchecked or untreated lead to anaphylaxis. If untreated, the "hives" or edema  could spread to your throat & lungs.  I would go to an ER.

Good Luck!
