Seeing facial hair when others say they cannot see it

So something I never really asked on here is that... Does anyone else have the experience shere they think they can see their facial hair even if they put on too much foundation. My shrink has said that he can't see my facial hair, others that
I have asked said they cannot see it, yet I can. Am I delusional, are others just being nice, or is this just part of gender dysphoria?

Forgive me but I am trying to understand the background.  Have you had your facial hair removed somehow and you are speaking about those pesky final ones that always seem to pop up?  Or are you using the foundation to cover a full beard?  I really can't tell from the photo.  There are special foundations for a "full" coverage. Dermablend, I think is one.  Maybe a little more info, then people can give you better feedback.  Hope this helps.

I get complete & total paranoia over any possible beard hair. Even if it can only be seen from about 2 cm away in very bright light. I don't care at all when someone comments that I don't have any kind of visible facial hair, if I see something in the mirror, I prepare the shaving gear. No matter the time of day, or how many times I've already shaved that day.
So, yes. It is a common problem for me. (I should get the "Understatement of the Year" prize for writing that)

I always used to get in a panic about facial hair. I recall almost everyone I knew expressing the same fear. I think your concerns are pretty normal.

Please, please, please don't take this the wrong way but is that a recent picture of you on the side?

If it is I can see it too!!  But I know what I'm looking for. I suppose it's the same as, bear with, a professional jockey looking at a horse. She or he knows exactly what to look for and notices all sorts of intricate details - whereas to me it's just a horse lol 

We're experts at seeing this stuff - we've conditioned ourselves to look for it. So we see it - others might not, or at least might not pick up on the subtleties like one of us would!! It's there; but it's not going to be obvious to anyone who isn't looking. You sound a lot like you're looking for it...

As a side note: I think you need to start laser. I did and it's been life changing. Shaving just isn't good enough and never will be.

I think what you are experiencing is normal. I use the good ol' red lipstick trick to block the 'blue' of the beard shadow and a foundation that matches my skin tone on top of that. It is less than ideal, and i swear I can still see the beard!! Anyways besides that, I have started laser, just one treatment so far. I have noticed there are a few patches on my face that have not seen any regrowth of hair - these areas appear to be light 'blotches' on my face, though in reality they are just areas absent of hair follicles (so smooth too!!!). My thought is that whether or not it is actually perceivable, until the hairs are permanently removed, we will see it ourselves regardless.

I was really lucky in the facial hair dept. couldn't grow a mustache, beard, or sideburns before I started removal, so my experience is limited.  However, your avatar is taken in full sunlight.  You probably apply the foundation at home under artificial light of some sort.  A lot of women (and myself) use special lighted makeup mirrors to apply it.  They have various filters that can be switched to simulate the light of the environment that you are going to be in.  It may be that it looks fine where and when you apply it, but it isn't enough for harsh daylight environments.  Wish I could recommend a good book on stage makeup.  You might try the library research department.  Your picture seems like a major metropolitan area.  There are probably "transformation" services there that are experienced in correct application.  All women practice with their girlfriends, make mistakes, "die of embarrassment," and learn from it.  They just get to do it at 13, without facial hair.  Good luck.

Our two harshest critics are ourselves and our mirrors. If your examining things up close of course you'll notice something, you know what you're looking for and often your doing it a lot closer than other people will ever get to you. As for mirrors, I find some of them are remarkably unflattering and I think I is due to the lighting conditions. Somehow them seem to emphasise every single flaw which would otherwise be unnoticeable in normal conditions.

I certainly know that I go there. Often. I freak out about trying to get as close a shave as possible. And it seems whiskers come back in moments. I am actually trying the Sally Hansen facial hair remover tonight. I have already tried "Magic Powder" but I can't tolerate Nair, and it appears to be a similar formula. I got chemical burns and broke out.

Our body and facial hair are a huge secondary sex characteristic. And they hang on us like an albatross around our necks. You will always been thinking about it. And God help you if you brush your hand across your chin and catch a stray whisker. I did on Friday and thought I was going to get the vapors right in the middle of the Salon I was at.

Listen to what others have said. Work with someone that can help you learn good cover-up techniques. Watch YouTube videos. Experiment. Try to learn ways to get the closest shave possible. Look into laser.

Mostly, be thankful. I don't grow thick facial hair- but my body hair...whew. I inherited that from my Dad. Irish yeti he was, abominable Irishman. I have to shave, get my back waxed, and Nair. I feel like I need more maintenance than a 73 Gremlin.

I am the opposite to you.

Some of my male friends are actually paranoiac on my facial hair. I do not care so much about it, but one of my friends tries to pluck it if he sees any fine but long hair. This usually happens when he sits next to me, and can see my side face in detail. As I no longer shave, there are many fine hairs in my face, but I do not care.

I have facial hair all over my face but it's best described as peach fuzz. It's white very fine short hair that wasn't worth the trouble to remove with electrolysis. The last time I shaved was close to 35 years ago and the hair remain short and nearly invisible. I am sure some people can see it but women sometimes get hair like that so I am not worried about it. Nobody has ever commented about it and am sure most people don't even notice it.
