I kept my secret for 50 years. The only exception being my wife. I told her early. I am now close to sixty people told including my boss. I know others may have different experiences, but I am amazed that everyone has, on the surface at least, been accepting. I instantly feel better about each person I tell. I guess the reason I tell you this is that many times, the dread of telling someone can be paralyzing. The reality of telling is so freeing. The ones who reject, well that is their choice. I hope this doesn't sound preachy, but the freedom you feel after telling is so amazing. I hate that I waited so long? Well, I wish you the best!
