Wow. This is a subject of which I have some knowledge, and this article gets it 100% right. I, too, was encouraged to start over at a whole new school, even though all my professional contacts and history were at my current school. Our union rep couldn't understand why I wouldn't be eager to do this - to him transitioning seemed so shameful.

I have never had the slightest problem with a student or parent.

I considered starting over at a new school, but I like where I'm at. And really, my students don't give a rip.
