I'm going to Vegas in a couple of weeks and want to present an androgynous look.

This will be my first time out as anything other than male.
I've been on HRT for 6 months, my skin has gotten softer and the face is starting to fill out but definitely still looks male. I have a slim build and body wise could pass as female.

Two girl friends are taking me shopping next weekend. Any advise on cloths selection?
Makeup, just enough to take off the rough edges?
How do I carry my stuff, like ID, slot club cards, money?

A little nerves about this, but have to start somewhere and Vegas seems like a good place to test the waters.
I'll be traveling as male and then changing to the androgynous look when I get there.

Thanks Girls

Small bi-fold wallet. They're slim enough to fit in even women's jean pockets. Fitted jeans and a boys t-shirt would be the easiest look. Work very well with Chuck Taylors. As for makeup, foundation and concealer to even out your skin tone. Good chap stick like Clinique. That'd be about as androgenous as I can imagine.

On a side note... it's Vegas! I'd say cut loose and go all out. Heels, wiggle dress, purse, and some Jackie O's. Be fabulous!
At what point did my life go Looney Tunes? How did it happen? Who's to blame?... Batman, that's who. Batman! It's always been Batman! Ruining my life, spoiling my fun! >:-)

In Vegas they have see pretty well everything if not in real life then in some of the shows including the female impersonation acts. They are very prejudice about one thing and thats the color green. As long as that keeps flowing, pretty much anything goes. I have been there several times including one extremely wild wedding and the only issue I had was when I was carrying a camera through a casino. That was solved when I reassured them I wouldn't use it while I was in the casino.

Oh, I would love to! but it will be my first time in public and I'm going by myself this trip. Next trip I'll be going with friends and plan to do full girl mode then.

Just a bit apprehensive being by myself so want to ease into my transition.

I'm about to go on a trip by myself (Orlando) where I don't know anyone and I'll never see them again.

My plan is to check into the resort, paint my nails, iron the dresses/blouses/pants I brought and go out.  I would like to find a wig - anyone know a Trans friendly wig shop with reasonable (<$100) wigs in Orlando/Tampa or surrounding area?

This is what I'm going to think about as I walk out the door in the hotel:
1) who cares (not me and no one else should)
2) take a deep breath and relax
3) The world won't end - you'll probably have fun.

Personally I can't wait - I'm actually almost giddy about it.

Been to Vegas many many times so I know several people there, mostly people that work at the casinos I go to.
I'm kind of curious what there reactions will be.

I guess my only problem is what to do with the things I need to carry around with me. Looks like I'll go with the purse, maybe a small one, or would one with a shoulder strap be better?

I'll be doing some walking on the strip but mostly sitting at the bars playing the machines. I love video poker!
Talking with friends last night, they said the same thing everyone here says. Don't worry about what anyone thinks, just hold your head up and act like you own the place.

Ok I can do that! Still going to be a bit nervous though.

Vegas was a success!

Now I know I can interact with others and not be so nervous I can't talk.

My first trip down the elevator was kind of terrifying. It seemed like it stopped at every floor. I'm sure everyone could hear my heart pounding, but after and hour of walking around I was fine.

Walking around the strip and out shopping most people didn't seem to even notice me. Everyone I talked to was very nice. I didn't get any hassle from anyone, even got "can I help you ma'am" a couple of times, but then my voice gave me away (gotta work on that).

Unexpected but kind of funny. At the end of the night on my last day I go to the elevator to go to my room, me and another guy walk into the elevator lobby at the same time, no one else there. We had to wait a minute or two for the elevator. He seems nervous. I'd had a few cocktails so my nervous thing is gone. We get on elevator and he's fidgeting and nervous as hell, I think it's me thats making him nervous. Poor guy. I think he was worse than I was on my first time down the elevator.

Anyway, Vegas was fun and I learned that I can do this. My transition will ultimately be a success.
Now I can't wait to do it again!
