Hey guys.

I am curious about your tastes when it comes to scent.
When I was a teen, I used the "Axe" deodorant, but that was before I ever gave a thought to gender. In retrospect it seems kind of fitting.

I´m not a fan of sports scents, but I´d like to explore options when it comes to different fragrances, and was wondering what you experiences are with this. Today I discovered that you can smell "floral, fresh, herbal" and even like leather or wood (yum).  ;D

What do you use, if any? And did you go to a fragrance store to get some help or did you just score something from the drugstore?

My soap is sandalwood scented. I've worn Abercrombie Fierce since high school. I like it. Never gone to a fragrance store. I tend to get overwhelmed in places that only sell one type of thing.

I like old spice deodorant and axe body wash, simple stuff. As for cologne I occasionally wear cool water by davidoff, but it's not a huge staple for me.

i use old spice deodorant/body wash. for cologne, i like things with a leather/vanilla undertone. i don't experiment with cologne often because if i buy something i just use it until it runs out then i buy a different kind to try it out etc. i don't like going into stores that are heavy on the like body stuff because it gives me a headache so i just go to like drug stores, or walmart, etc. and smell stuff.

Before I transitioned (aka when I was boymode all the time), I used fragrances to send a message to others through smell. When I wore cologne, I either wore Polo (very sparingly), Obsession for men, or Davidoff (not made anymore, NOT the "cool water")

I personally don't like any of the AXE product smells, but then again, it reminds me of douchebags and desparation.

Think of the message you want to send, and judge your fragrances accordingly.

I currently have Axe Peace bodyspray in use. My fiancée picked it for me because I have a terrible sense of smell and don't know what smells good. :D According to her it was the most neutral scent from all the shop had to offer so why not.

Soap/bodywash-wise I don't think I get any scent. My fiancée bought this use pump bottle of some bodywash from the pharmacy so I've been using that. Doesn't really smell like anything. Apparently it's good for the skin. *shrug*

Sandalwood soap and Sauvage cologne. I go to the scent shop to get it.

I love them! I have Axe deodorant and spray, old spice deodorant, shampoo, hair gel, and for body wash I use Irish Springs. I usually get my stuff from CVS or Walgreens, they sometimes have some good deals.

Versace Man.  I love the smell of Versace on a woman, so I looked to see if they made one for men.  I was glad to see they did.  It has a similar scent, yet is clearly a men's cologne.  I don't know how they did that, but glad they did.

I don't wear cologne often, though.  No real reason, just don't.

I wear a knockoff version of Usher for Men cologne every day with plain Old Spice deodorant.  I like Axe body spray but have met a lot of gay men who turn their noses up at men who wear it cause it's cheap.  And since I like gay men, I don't wear Axe.  ;)  I love men's scents and always have.  I have always worn men's cologne instead of women's perfume, even when I was really femme.

And yes, I got my knockoff at Big Lots.  Sorry, but I ain't paying $150 for a tiny bottle of scent.  And I've smelled Usher at the department store and it smells just the same.

I've been using Yves Rocher; Umbre Noir, Hogger (Sandalwood), Nature (Cedar), and Nature (Juniper), which depends on my mood and what I'll be doing. If I need a confidence boost it's either Hogger or Umbre Noir,  otherwise i switch it up between the other two because they are less intrusive.

When I was looking I went to the shop, sprayed 4 different fragrances in different spots on my arms and left, came back another day and tried some more  :P I find that they smell a lot different on your skin after a few hours than on the little paper cards. Now I use Roberto Cavalli Just Cavalli

That's the proper way to test it.

Of course, I'm also partial to Hoppe's No. 9.

I used Old Spice deodorant exclusively for a while. It's awesome.  Last time I bought deodorant though, I went with Irish Spring which was cheaper. I dug that one too.

And I clean all my guns with it. Have you ever tried Rem oil?

I tend to get overwhelmed by the smell, especially one of these perfume chain stores (like Douglas)... can´t even walk in front of one without being engulfed by thirty different kinds of scents :P That´s mainly the reason why I haven´t ever entered one.

I ended up buying one from the local drugstore (no Walgreens or Walmart here...), it says "White Leather", smells of leather and incense which is pretty nice, though still a little on the sweet side. I´d really also like to try Old Spice but maybe it´d be an internet order, because I don´t think that they sell those brands where I live.

I guess I could learn from this approach :P There are still a lot of scents I haven´t tried yet. On to the drugstore!

Really into Fan di Fendi Acqua (Fendi) right now. In the warmer weather it was Dior Homme. I'm dying to try Dior Sauvage.

It doesn't have quite the same effect as Hoppes... a couple of whiffs of Hoppes on someone, and oof... ready for love. :P
