Alysia Yeoh is a trans character who has been a part of the Batgirl title since November 2011... and she just got married.
Props to writer Gail Simone for creating this character and making her halfway interesting and for eschewing all the usual trans stereotypes, and to the writers who followed Simone for keeping her around in some capacity. That said, she never really gelled with me as trans - maybe she started hormones when she was 14 or she won the genetic lottery because she is always depicted with a decidedly genetic female look to her and there is never any discussion about her transition or pre transition life (unlike, say Nomi from Sens8). In other words, she might as well not be trans for all that she does as trans character as it seems to be 0% of her persona. That's disappointing obviously, but hey, you take what you can get, right? Right?
The short lived Effigy published by Vertigo had a more believable trans character even though (sigh) she was a sex worker...

...but yeah, that is also a reality for quite a few trans people and is more believable than Alysia's remarkably blessed transition.
OK. I'll admit it, I'm just jealous! Anyway, congratulations Alysia for living the dream!!!!

That's her on the left (brunette) with her bride (who is cis)... so yeah, a mainstream US comic book had a trans lesbian kiss on the cover of one of their more popular publications.
As for issue #45 it wasn't an overly great read - dealt mostly with Barbara Gordon/Batgirl juggling being the Maid of Honour to Alysia and the unexpected return of her own former lover Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing who is being a real, er, dick. Yeah, a bit of a yawner with pretty much nothing at stake. But the marriage was sweet. Jealous. As. Hell.
