A little out of it..

Heya gals.

I'm not really sure how to interpret this but last night I had the most horrible nightmare. I dreamt I had a baby in hospital on life support. The worst part of it was I saw the life support fail right in front of my eyes and I couldn't stop it from happening. The baby died 

I woke up crying and I'm still shaken even now. Is this a result of hormones? It's really scary...

Dreams and nightmares are just that, dreams and nightmares

I've had some horrific nightmares, I know what some of them are related to but others are just freaky dreams that wake me up but have no relation to anything I can remember

Most likely HRT has nothing to do with it

You're welcome Sofi, it is completely understandable

Possibly in the future when it becomes time to drift off into dreamland you could try thinking pleasant thoughts about your wishes and goals or things that just make you feel happy

If the monsters come about, take control and tell them that this is your dream and that you will dictate how it is going to go

Most dreams are metaphors for stuff that's going on in your life. This one happened to catch your attention because it was vivid and emotionally difficult. The best thing to do with upsetting dreams is to ask "what does it mean for me?" Usually there is some subconscious significance - a baby might mean a new idea or a new relationship, something new and potentially very vulnerable... what does the baby signify to you?

I did have an experience wholly related to my ERT.  The answer took quite a while to resolve because neither my counsellors, internists, nor I had the experience to know what it was.

I repeatedly experienced getting sick on my ERT - heaving, vomiting, upset stomach for starters. This was not all the time but many occasions during two different time periods with two different physicians who then adjusted my prescription directions to take my ERT spaced evenly throughout the day rather than all at once in the morning.

It was the observance of female co-workers who saw me experience my side-effects of ERT who gave the diagnosis - my high dose ERT was leading me to experience 'morning sickness' same as any newly-pregnant female responds to her endogenous hormone over-load.

That explanation made sense for a side issue - my vivid dreams of myself experiencing stages of pregnancy on days when I suffered morning sickness.  Seems my physical reaction triggered my sub-conscious thoughts into night-time dreams.  My dreams were of more typical, routine experiences of pregnancy.

Could be your dream was similar but depicted a post-partum episode.

Dreams are just dreams. I wouldn't put much stake into them.

Really they can be fun and interesting to try to interpret but I wouldn't take life stake on any of those interpretations heh.
