Statutory Declaration Question

I've been starting to look into changing my name recently via statutory declaration and a question just came to mind. When informing places (banks, DVLA and such) of my name change would they require the original/certified version of the statutory declaration or would a copy of it suffice?

I went with the original version and not a copy. Many companies want the original.
