If you are worried about the cost of T, you should be able to get it pretty cheaply, depending on local options. Some people use legit mail order pharmacies (I'm not sure you can do that from your state). I use my local AFT pharmacy (formerly Mom's Priority Pharmacy). I used Costco for a while. All are cheap. The last time I got a 10-milliliter vial, I paid something like fifty bucks for it. Regular pharmacies were quoting something like two hundred bucks for the same vial. You want to avoid that.
I am on a CA version of BS, and I am covered--but only in thirty-day increments. So to be covered, I have to go back every month and get refills, and I have to pay a small fee for each refill. Although I spend a bit more by paying for a big vial out of pocket, I save on gas, time, and general hassles.
To find out whether trans services are covered under your plan, you will need to look at the booklet that most companies post online. If trans isn't covered, you will find it in the exclusions section, usually at the very end.
