How Kricket Nimmons Seized the Transgender Moment

The New York Times/By DEBORAH SONTAG Photographs by TODD HEISLERVideo by KASSIE BRACKEN
DEC. 12, 2015

"Perched on a gurney at dawn, Kricket Jerná Nimmons, 40, kicked her feet giddily, like a girl on the edge of a pool, preparing to take a plunge. She wore a hospital gown and purple socks with paw prints. Her face was clean-scrubbed — "no lash, no makeup, just me" — and she looked at peace."

Not sure I love the fact that an SRS story gets a photographic spread in The Times. People are too fixated with surgery as it is.

But hey, she's Rumer girl. Rumer Girls Rock!
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?
