Welcome to Susan's Place. We will help you with any information you need to get started. We can teach you about yourself and we have letters in the link section that you can read. If you feel comfortable saying the words, that's the best way but if not, use a letter and wait while your parent(s) read it.

At your age you might not receive hormones but you should receive T blockers. They will stop the production of Testosterone so you don't develop any more masculine features. When you get  a little older, you would receive hormones and start developing in a more feminine direction.

Feel free to ask for any help you need or any questions you might have on this thread and I will see your post and answer your questions when I can.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Hello,
You mention just asking for estrogen, but have you come out to them yet?? Coming out before asking about HRT may give them a little more time to process your new (to them) identity. If you are already out to them good for you!! What I would do is MAKE A PLAN. Know your insurance, research your plan and the laws of your state/country, and potential doctors and if needed therapists. Research and try to face an answer to every question they may field. Plan as if they have said yes and try to get the largest picture possible. If your parents are not going to be 100% supportive I would recommend seeing a therapist before you ask them.  The best of luck to you!

well, obviously our going to need to get a therapist. You could start the process just by saying you'd like to talk to some one or get a school counselor involved in helping you.
