I had someone contact me today because they were feeling bad about themselves because someone was staring and snickering their way. I would like to talk about this for a minute because the way I look at it is that if somebody is staring at me or talking about me. It's only because my life is more interesting than theirs, and I thank them for making me the center of their universe at that time. You need to learn to turn it right back on them, make them feel bad for talking about you and staring at you, it really is pretty easy to do once you learn how to do it. Never let anyone rent space in your head. You need to think to yourself if someone is staring at you, the only conclusion you should draw is that the person is taking notes on your awesomeness. Smile and always be the strong, independent, and beautiful women that you all are and let the world know they aren't getting to you...!

Love,

Melissa Ann

I usually stare with bored intent at the space to the side of their ear. Really freaks them out and they disengage.

LOL, I always say that.

And also my classic "Oh god, all that people caring about me and talking about what I do; and I just can't take the effort to think about even a single one of them. Makes me feel sooo special" :D

Melissa Ann,

I don't tend to be very kind and assuring to myself. Others, no problem. Self affirmation statements tend to stick on my tongue. I am trying to work my way through this. Your advice is not going to be easy for me to adopt; however, it may be some of the best coping advice I ever receive.

Thanks,

Joanna
