My step-grandmother tried telling me that "Cher's """"daughter""""" is dying from """"her"""" sex change". I'm basically certain she did it to try to convince me that being FtM is a bad idea, given the context of my parents telling her that no, I haven't "gone back" to being a girl.
I just. What even?
I almost want to give her a free pass because she's an old cis lady, but at the same time... Idk. I just hate it when I have to interact with her, because her and my step-grandfather never Get It.
Their daughter, my step-aunt, told me when I came out that I was the one who was changing, and I shouldn't expect anyone else to change with me.
That entire side of the family (except for my stepdad) still refers to me with "she" and "her", but they ARE finally catching on to my not-so-new name.
Oh, and did I mention our first exchange when she came in the door?
"Hey darling. How've you been?"
"I've been good."
"Good girl."
...
Yeah...
Good thing my direct family is affirming...
❤️ RESIDENT PRETTY BOY ❤️.
