I have just finished reading Julia Serano's "Whipping Girl", which I identified with an awful lot and therefore found extremely helpful.

Since finishing "Whipping Girl" I've been searching for similar or related books to read. But since so many authors writing on the subject of trans women are often written by cis males, academics with loopy views on trans people, and, of course, radical feminists, I thought of turning to this forum in the hope someone can recommend a few texts.

Transgender Complete and The Transgender Guidebook are worth reading, especially if you're in the US.

Thanks for those suggestions, FemmeInM, they look good.

The other book I'm interested in is "Trans Bodies, Trans Selves".

I live in Australia.

"She's not there, a life in two genders" by Jenny Boylan
Like me she thought love would cure her, married, had two kids, transitioned in her 40's and several other things.

Thanks for that awesome list, Naomi.

Funny thing is, I was just reading Whipping Girl myself and love it too.
