Cruz: Better to 'Inflict' a Transgender Student on Teachers Than Teens

http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016-election/cruz-better-inflict-transgender-student-teachers-teens-n491611

NBC News/by Vaughn Hillyard    01/06/2016

"Ted Cruz told supporters on Wednesday that allowing a transgender student to use a faculty restroom amounts to "inflicting" the student on teachers but is a better alternative than "sticking him in the shower with the teenage girls." "

listening to the words coming out of Republicans' mouths these days is like watching some 1950s B grade movie about an earth in an alternate universe.

I'm so tired of being a target.
I know.  I try to be numb to it and am partially successful but it still sends pangs through my heart.

I wonder if this is anything like what it felt like to be Jewish in the 1930's (in the USA), when the likes of Father Coughlin were running around loose.

Probably.  I very stupidly still read some conservative forums to stay abreast of what they think.  There are an awful lot of upstanding Christians, complete with their scripture quotes, that openly express sympathy with ISIS killing homosexuals by throwing them off of roofs.

I just roll my eyes, give them the double finger salute and go about my day.

They aren't worth any more than that.

I'd like to inflict my foot in Ted's butthole and wear him as a shoe.

Damn girl, you are totally good for quick quips and witty retorts.  Thanks for the belly laugh

I'm surprised he so casually disregards the children he's speaking of by publicly calling the act of trying to meet their needs "inflicting" them on someone.

Let's remember these two statements instead:

"All across this country right now, all across the world at this very moment, there are young people coming to terms with being transgender. They are learning that they're different and they are trying to figure out how to handle that, on top of every other problem that a teenager has. They're getting bullied, they're getting beaten up, they're getting murdered, and they're committing suicide."

and:

"If you want to call me names, make jokes, doubt my intentions, go ahead, because the reality is, I can take it. But for the thousands of kids out there coming to terms with being true to who they are, they shouldn't have to take it."

One of the many reasons I dont vote Republican anymore, constantly pandering to the theocratic bunch who have no concept  of equal rights under the law or the modern world.    Instead they use a book written over a millenia ago to force their beliefs onto others against their free will.  its wrong in so many ways
