Hi everyone,

My first visit to the GIC today and to cut a long story short my E and T levels were these:

On the two key indicators:

Estrogen: 305 pg/mL
Testosterone: 14.5 nmoL

The background to this can be found at the link below if you're interested but I was wondering what levels are we looking for in MtF?

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php?topic=202046.new;topicseen#new

In brief: I've been on meds for c. 16 months but have had some breaks and a slow return over the last 3 months. I'm on low doses of E and one T blocker.

All things considered I'm quite pleased with the E level. I've got very noticeable breast growth at the moment. They want to bring down the T. Does that sound about right? What should be aiming for the more they control my meds?

I believe the target range for Testosterone is between 1-2.
I imagine they will keep your Estrogen levels as they are as they would be within the target range they are going for.
The target range is quite wide, they said mine was fine and they are:

E - 435
T - 0.1

For some reason I seem to have had a extremely good reaction to the T blockers even on low doses.

My latest figures (after 3 years on HRT) were:-

Estrogen: 195 pg/mL
Testosterone: 2.4 nmoL

Thanks for the above Kayla and Judith. I need to get my T down then. Hmmm.

my testosterone was at 0.87  nmol/l   after 2.5 month

It's always possible that I have the T unit of measurement wrong? I peered at the screen and guessed it to be nmo/l. On the other hand, I haven't been on GnRH analogues and only a low dose finasteride so that could figure.

My T is in the mid 20's while the endo has been striving to try and keep my estrogen level around 200. Hugs

There are no ideal levels. There is no scientific evidence on which to base ourselves to say a certain range is ideal for all transwomen. Ask any doctor to provide the evidence, they won't be able. It's arbitrary. Range in ciswomen is 15-650 pg/ml during menstrual cycle, up to 75,000 pg/ml during pregnancy so whatever level you end up with, you are in range. lol. Doctors disagree on what levels are ideal. One needs to also take into account that not everyone is the same, it's called sensitivity, genetic factors, etc so that some need more, some less.

Levels measured are also taken at a random point in time and most likely, they fluctuate so they aren't reliable. My levels decreased by 1,000 pg/ml in a couple of days on injections!

T range is usually between 15-90 ng/dl (0.5 - 3.1 nmol/L). Some women feel better on more, some need less T to feminize well, it depends. My total T is 0.3.

The important thing is you're healthy, feel good and are feminizing. :)
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

That's very good advice!

I just had my first ever bra measurement and no wonder the kathoey in Thailand thought I'm one of them: 38D. So at least the oestrogen is working :)
